Q. What kind of equipment does Northend Rental have?

A. We specialize in equipment for electrical and communications contractors.

Q. How do your rental rates work?

A. We have daily, weekly and monthly rental rates on all of our equipment. Our daily rate is for a 24 hour period and runs from the time the equipment leaves our facility to the time it is returned to our facility. This includes any shipping time such as UPS or trucking delivery. You do not need to choose the rate you want, we will automatically give you the best rate!

Q. I see that Northend Rental is not open on weekends, how can I get something I need to use on Saturday?

A. In general, equipment rented after 4:00 PM on Friday and returned by 9:00 AM the following Monday is charged one day of rent. However, as our weekend policy is based on the honor system; if you are going to use the equipment on both Saturday and Sunday, we ask that you inform us and pay for both days. All non-standard arrangements must be made in advance!

  Days Charged When Used:
Rented Returned Saturday OR Sunday Saturday AND Sunday
Friday before 4:00 PM Monday before 9:00 AM 2 days 3 days
Friday after 4:00 PM Monday before 9:00 AM 1 day 2 days
Friday after 4:00 PM Monday after 9:00 AM 2 days 3 days

Q. A lot of other rental companies offer rental insurance or damage waivers, does Northend Rental?

A. No, we do not. We feel that this cost should be taken into consideration when establishing the rental rate on the equipment in the first place. If a piece of our equipment breaks, fails or simply wears out during to the normal course of operation, Northend Rental considers it a maintenance issue and repairs or replaces the equipment at no additional cost to our customer. However, if the equipment was abused, used improperly, or had been modified by the customer, Northend Rental would charge to return the equipment to its normal and safe operating condition. The thing to consider here is that such damage would not be covered by most rental damage waivers or insurance anyway.

Q. Do you sell off your old equipment?

A. While we certainly do occasionally sell some used equipment, it is usually because we are eliminating that particular type of tool from our rental fleet or possibly trying to unify a particular type of tool to the same model. As a general rule, if a piece of our "front-line" equipment is sold, we will need to replace it right away and as such, the price is going to be fairly close to the price of a new piece of equipment. Usually, when a piece of our equipment gets to the point that we want to remove it from our rental fleet, its only use is going to be a parts for other similar pieces of equipment. Our usually way of selling used equipment or surplus inventory is via eBay.
